good until it wasn't

We had a great experience, until after our stay, finding out that an insurance claim had been filed against us without anyone alerting us to there being a problem. When we then reviewed the content of the insurance claim, it seemed like we were being blamed for things that either were not true, were fairly normal wear and tear, or for damage that already existed before our arrival. We had no way to contest this, so it left a bitter taste in our mouths. We went from a great experience to feeling like a claim had been filed simply because it could be (we had bought the damage insurance when we rented the home). We are honest people, and try to take good care of the places we stay. This gives us pause in terms of thinking about renting at The Lookout again.

It should be noted that you park down below and must walk the stairs around the house or inside to come inside and unload groceries,luggage, etc.
Convenient location and fun for all ages. Nice view from the back deck to the Lake. We took advantage of the wonderful floaties in the storage container on the deck. We love the Lookout and will be back.
The house could use a guest book. :)
Our family had a wonderful stay at Buckmild at the Lookout. Beautiful place
Reviewed on 2024-06-19 by , burlington , WA United StatesThe house was beautiful and the hosts had everything you could need. One thing was the WiFi password wasn’t working but tvs were already connected so we didn’t really care that much. Other than that it was great.

You can run around in the Vineyard Park steps from the front door. Unwind as you watch the sunset while roasting marshmallows and your favorite glass of wine. We are near the 70-slip marina, Lookout Park, children’s play areas, pickleball courts, outdoor fireplace, community grill, pool, hot tub, and beach cove.

This 2-story, 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom modern vacation home is perfect for making memories with friends & family. Walk into a light and bright open-concept great room with 15-foot vaulted ceilings that make it enjoyable for everyone to be together. Gourmet kitchen with
premium Café appliances, quartz countertops, large island, and dining for 10. The kitchen opens with 9-foot sliding doors to a Weber grill on the east-facing deck. Three bedrooms on the main level will be furnished with king-size beds. Full-size commercial washer and dryer right off the kitchen.
Multiple decks to experience. Back deck in the morning while sipping coffee and viewing the lake, and the front deck in the evening while kicking back and enjoying the vineyard park. The front deck has heaters, dining seating for 8, patio chairs, and Adirondack seating around your private fire pit for year-round enjoyment.
Located downstairs is the Media/Bunk Room. Equipped with 85-inch 4K TV and Sonos surround sound. 4 XL twin bunk beds and an oversized sectional, it even comes with its full bathroom (with tub)!! The cherry on top, BUCKMILD, comes with three parking spaces and EV charging. More parking is available if needed!
Due to the homeowner's allergies, dogs and cats are prohibited at Buckmild.
